Technology to Help Get You Through Online School

For many of us, the way we are doing school and/or working these past few semesters is very different from what we are used to. Rather than going into a classroom, we are able to attend class from the comfort of our own home. With remote learning being more prevalent than ever, it is important to invest in pieces of technology that will set you up for success. Here is a list for students to explore to see what best suits their needs:

Laptops

1. HP Envy 13

· Has updated security features, powerful speakers, long battery life, and retails for under $1,000.

2. MacBook

· Apple has many different MacBook options depending on your price range, and since most people have other Apple products you are able to sync your laptop with your other Apple products. The laptops are known for their long-lasting battery, high quality speakers, and for being super light and thin.

3. Dell XPS 13

· This new model is the smallest and lightest Dell has ever created. With up to 11 hours of battery life and an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, the Dell laptop is a great option to consider and just over $1,000.

Tablets and 2-in-1

1. Microsoft Surface Pro 7

· This model allows students to have a traditional laptop screen and keyboard and a tablet all in one device. Not only is its adaptability a game-changing feature, but it also has amazing capabilities when it comes to camera quality and battery life.

2. Apple iPad

· If you do not prefer the two-in-one setup, an Apple iPad is a great option to keep in mind for similar reasons to the MacBook. In addition, it is compatible with Bluetooth keyboards and the Apple pencil if you want to enhance your studying experience.

Headphones

1. Sony WH-CH510 Headphones

· These are affordable headphones that typically retail at around $60, their features include a noise-canceling mic and ambient mode. With sound quality being a great concern with online school, these are a great option to consider; they even come with ear padding and long battery life.

2. Anker Soundcore Life P2 Earbuds

· Designed to mimic Apple’s AirPods at a fraction of the cost ($50), these earbuds have multiple microphones for voice-enhancement and noise suppression, get 40 hours of battery life, and are fast charging.

3. Apple AirPods

· Although they are the priciest option, AirPods work the best with other Apple products and are able to easily pair and connect with other devices. Even though they work best with Apple products, they work with any piece of technology with the Bluetooth feature. They are easily portable and compact, with a long-lasting battery life.

Although this is not an exhaustive list, hopefully this gives you an idea of different devices to help support your online learning environment.
