November is quickly approaching and with the current state of the world, there has never been a better time to vote. This is the first time voting for many college women, so we put together a little guide to help you get registered and get to the polls on November 3rd.
The first step is to get registered to vote! There are many different websites and work-arounds to get registered, but we suggest going direct. You can visit this link on the State of Florida's Voter Registration website to get set-up. They will ask a series of questions and have you fill out some basic identification information. Be sure to put the address that you will be at on November 3rd. A lot of students often put their home address rather than their school address and this can affect where you are registered to vote.
Not sure if you have registered? Click here to check your registration and address. If you are registered, but need to change your information, visit the State of Florida's Voter Registration website (linked above) to do so. Also, check out where your nearest polling place is here.

COVID-19 has had a huge effect on how voting will be conducted this year. Don't let the virus inhibit your right to vote. If you wish to stay socially distant, request an absentee ballot here. There are a few things to note about this option. One, make sure you are requesting an absentee ballot for the election you wish to vote in. It is easy to request one for a primary rather than the Presidential election on November 3rd. There are also specific dates you will need to request the ballot and return by. Remember to take shipping time into account. If you send the ballot in on November 3rd, it will not be submitted in time, and therefore not counted. View the Florida dates and deadlines here.
Whether you are voting in-person or by mail, the Florida Voter Registration Deadline for the General Election is Monday, October 5th. Make sure you get a head start on researching candidates, getting registered, and getting ready to head to the polls on November 3rd! If you have any other thoughts on voting or getting registered to vote, feel free to drop them in the comments below. Preparing to vote can be a daunting task, we hope this guide made it a little easier for college women everywhere.
