Three Campus Resources for Students

Updated: Nov 21, 2022

Florida State University offers hundreds of resources on campus, and many resources aren’t utilized because of a lack of knowledge altogether or because students don’t know how to access them. To assist, here are three major resources to get you started!

Career Center

The Career Center, located in the building next to the Globe and shared with the Center for Leadership and Social Change, offers countless resources for professional development. Alongside the resources below, they offer workshops for smaller groups/clubs, which is the topic for some of our meetings!

1. Drop in: Resumes & Cover letters, choosing a major, personal statements, networking, and more

  • Simply walk into the Career Center during drop-in times to meet with an advisor on these topics!

2. Nole Network: Potential Jobs & Internships

  • Using your FSUID login, Nole Network is a website that you can use to find potential employers for jobs or internships. It is updated often, so when in search it is a great tool!

3. Career Fairs

  • Hosted throughout the year, Career Fairs are an excellent way to meet employers. While there is one main Career Fair held in Spring and Fall, smaller fairs are held for certain fields.

4. Professionole Clothing Closet

  • Have an interview coming up but don’t have the clothing? Professionole clothing closet lets you choose up to four FREE pieces of professional clothing each semester. Appointments are required, but it's easy to sign up through Nole Network!

5. Explore their website here: https://career.fsu.edu/

University Health Services (UHS)

The University Health Services is often overlooked by students. Providing FREE or reduced-cost health services, almost anything you would go to a walk-in clinic off campus you can go to the UHS. They offer:

  1. Vaccinations

  2. Physicals/Annual exams

  3. STD Testing

  4. Women’s Care

  5. A LOT more!!! You can see a full list here: https://uhs.fsu.edu/

Counseling and Psychological Services

Being a student in college can be difficult, so FSU offers mental health services for free/reduced charge. Located in the Askew Student life center, Counseling and Psychological Services wants to benefit YOU by:

  1. Offers Psychoeducation workshops that discuss meditation, anxiety, depression, or self-esteem

  2. Offers walk-in therapy appointments that can lead you to group or individual sessions with licensed therapists.

Alongside these three resources, there are countless others that FSU offers. Any issue, whether it be mentally, socially, professionally, or physically, Florida State University offers something to help you. Talking with peers, meeting with advisors, or even keeping up to date with social media can help guide you to resources that will make the best you.
